I found this pic of Lt. Vinny Marino, Ladder 55, when he was a firefighter
assigned to Engine 58 in Manhattan.  The Vin-Man is the good looking
one in the middle.  During his long career, these were the only 2
companies Vinny worked in.  He retired with over 30 years on the job.
This is a copy of an Email sent 02-02-06 from Bob Jewel,
the son of Robert Jewel E71 1968-1975

My father was in engine 71 as mentioned above while
the South Bronx was burning down.  I still remember him
coming home covered in soot and sweat cause he just
wanted to get home to see us.   He passed away 7/5/04
in case you wanted to update your records.  He retired
over 20 years ago, but he still died on the job.  Next time
you guys order "war wagon" tee shirts, let me know so I
can get some for my brothers and myself.  God bless.
